Astros Set New Season-High For Runs Scored, Embarrass Blue Jays 19-1

Describing this past series with the Houston Astros as an emotional rollercoaster is an understatement.

After taking the first game against the Astros, Jays fans had high hopes going into Friday’s game only to be heartbroken with a 12-1 destruction.

Saturday, the Jays on the back of an outstanding pitching performance from Marcus Stroman go onto to win convincingly. Positive vibes yet again.

Sunday comes around, and the Houston Astros set a new season high in runs scored and embarrass the Jays 19-1.

I know what you are thinking, they split the series with the best team in baseball 2-2, great! However, the manner in which they lost the two other games is cause for concern. It seems like if they Jays do not get an outstanding pitching performance, they lose and lose badly.

As a fan, it’s tough to read this team. One day they look great and next they look awful. I hope that there will be some consistency to come with this group after the All Star break.

The question crosses my mind, how many of these crushing defeats can this team take before they lose faith in their locker room. Let’s hope the Jays players have short memories and forget all about the tough losses.
