Don’s Picks: Week 10

Don’s Picks: Week 10

The goal is always double digit wins. This week I did not reach that goal. But I’ll take 9-4 on a smaller game count all day. To be fair, I should be 11-2, but the 49ers forgot they were garbage and the Cowboys somehow couldn’t beat the 30th ranked offence in the Titans.

Don’s Takeaways

The Raiders might be the worst team in football

It’s hard to believe, but it’s true. I thought the worst team in football was the 49ers, followed by the Bills. I was wrong. The Raiders brought in Jon Gruden to build their team into a winner and instead has torn the team apart. I’m a Gruden fan, but it appears the football world has past him by.

Are the Saints the best team in football?

I’m still struggling to wrap my head around this. The Saints have always been good offensively, but haven’t been a legitimate contender in a hot minute. Now they’re 7-1 and just beat the undefeated Rams. Not to mention they just signed Dez Bryant. Which is crazy when you think about adding another offensive weapon to an already studded offensive lineup. It’s hard not to consider them #1 at this point.

The Chargers are LEGIT

Philip Rivers is having himself a year. He’s completed 67% of his passes for 2,200 yards, 19 touchdowns and just 3 interceptions. And don’t forget about Melvin Gordon. The running back has 10 total touchdowns this season, including 7 rushing and three receiving. We’re talking a lot about the Chiefs, but the Chargers are every bit the contenders Kansas City are.

Games to Watch

Panthers vs. Steelers

Both teams are red hot. Both quarterbacks are playing out of this world. And both have some of the best offensive talent in the league. They also both have good defences. This is anyone’s game. But I’m still not convinced the Panthers are the real deal. I don’t think their receiving options are enough to go touchdown-for-touchdown with the Steelers, and that’s why I’m picking Pittsburgh in this one.

Jaguars vs. Colts

This game is either going to be unreal or it’s going to suck copious amounts of donkey balls. But it’ll be worth watching to see how it turns out. At one point the Jaguars were looking to bench Blake Bortles and now he’s back. Andrew Luck can and has been carrying this team on his back, but doesn’t have the talent around him to win consistently.  So basically what I’m saying is you should watch the shit show that is these two teams.

Seahawks vs. Rams

Divisional Rivalries always make great games. Russell Wilson can hang with any team. The Rams are just amazing. Which means this should be a pretty good go of it. I don’t think the Rams are going to lose back-to-back weeks though. I also just don’t think theres enough talent on this Seattle offence to do more than really make a game of this. I think it’ll be a close game, but L.A. comes out with the W at home.
