If you grew up in Canada and watched alot of television you know the catchy jingle and the name Body Break, as a kid I absolutely hated how their ads would interupt me watching cartoons, like yes I get it you’re all fit people living active lives stop rubbing it in my face. However as I got older I look back at these ads and informericals with a fond nostaligic 90’s feel and miss the simplicity of it all. I was thrilled to get the chance to welcome Hal Johnson to the show and discuss Body Break and some really interesting topics that I did not know about Hal. Such as being turned down by TSN because they did not want two black reporters.
In this episode of Tobin Tonight, Hal talks about how the project came about due to discrimination . Hal opens up about his past/present experiences with discrimination and how he handles it. Although Body Break became a successful project, did you know 40 or so companies turned it down and some even wanted Hal replaced?
