It seems like every other week news is breaking that either Elon Musk or Nick Cannon is the “proud” father of another child support payment. Both these dudes are going to spend zero quality time with their respective offspring so I hope the Mothers have a strong support system in place because being a single parent is no joke. I’m sure the money is nice but there’s no amount of money in the world worth sleepless nights and cleaning shit off the wall because a cool breeze caught the baby just right. Those are the moments that break a parent and money doesn’t solve that problem.
But I can understand it from all parties involved. They are all consenting adults. Who wouldn’t want to be in a relationship with the richest man in the world and know that financially you are going to be supported for the rest of your life?
I can even understand Nick Cannon’s appeal, although I think he’s a giant douche. He’s a good-looking guy. He’s got “Hollywood” written all over him and was the host of “America’s Got Talent”. He’s a legitimate celebrity. But after eight kids how much of that “Drumline” money could he possibly have left?
I can hear you asking, so what are the stats? Let’s look at the Tale of the Tape:
|Nick Cannon||Elon Musk|
|8 Kids||9 Kids|
|5 Different Mothers||3 Different Mothers|
That is a close one but I’m going to say that ultimately there are no winners in this match-up because when kids are ill-supported we all lose. And I know I’m generalizing a bit here but as a father of two with an incredible support system, I’m exhausted and stressed out every single day so don’t tell me it’ll be easier with 8 kids and 5 mothers all spread out across the country.
