Source: (St Louis) A large electronic billboard that features President Donald Trump with the bible verse, “The word became flesh,” can be seen along the southbound lanes of the highway.
“I didn’t know what to make of it. I didn’t know what message it was trying to send, but I felt like it was somewhat offensive, I didn’t know if they were trying to equate Donald Trump to Jesus,” said Chisholm.
In the top right corner, the billboard says “Make the Gospel Great Again” playing off Trump’s famous slogan.
The advertisement is owned by DDI Media, but there is no clear message on the image about who paid for it.
Millard and I discussed this in a podcast a couple of weeks ago.
Evangelical Christians have traded there principal’s and souls for Trump’s support because he espouses the divisive, extreme nature of their bullshit faith.
Full disclosure: I grew up in an evangelical Christian home. Church twice on Sunday; propaganda filled youth group on Tuesdays and outreach mission work on the odd weekend to bring people into the fold. The born again sales tool is if you don’t say the ‘Prayer of repentance, you’re going to hell in a handbag and nothing good you do in your life matters.
Here’s what the average evangelical Christian is told to believe:
- Good works are dirty rags. Nothing good you do in your life is good enough to make it into heaven.
- Premarital sex and jerking off is a sin against God and immoral.
- Everyone else other than born-again Christians is going to hell.
- Abortion or a woman’s right to choose is also a sin against God; there’s no forgiveness for that.
- You cannot marry someone who’s not evangelical
- Noah’s Ark was real…seriously.
If you are insane enough to believe any one of these things you are dumb enough to trade faith in God for a seat at Trump’s table and you’re willing to put up a billboard because your bullshit religion is finally relevant. The President espouses the divisive, dangerous views of evangelicals and 98% of Republicans are evangelical, so it’s no surprise some dick farmer anonymously paid for a billboard that suggests Trump is Jesus in the flesh.
I still believe in God. Morso than ever. However the God I believe in thinks billboards like this were put there by fucking lunatics he wants nothing to do with.
My Family has evolved like me. Most of them know God isn’t a racist dick who hates gay people and Democrats.
He also is a just God, so there’s a 100% chance whoever put this up gets a blasphemous lighting rod in their bung piece for fun.
