“I built up a really good tolerance” or “I have zero tolerance” – of course, you hear it all the time. Tolerance is life’s little way of toughing up our skin and often a wake-up call when the effects of what we use don’t work as well.
As I sat munching my 3rd weed cookie of the evening, I assumed,
“SHIT, MY TOLERANCE HAS REALLY BUILT UP!”
Truth is, I had dental work and the pain was so great – I needed a higher dose of THC to alleviate the pain. Therefore, I was more tolerant of the high.
My friend’s mother was recently prescribed medicinal cannabis and also reflects after one month “I don’t know how well this is working for me – but every time I take it I need more”
Listen, I am no doctor
Like anything, your body does build up a tolerance and will let you know when you need more….or less.
Look at the Opiate crisis and pain meds in general. Users constantly need more as their bodies become dependent. (and tolerant)
Tolerance: the capacity to endure continued subjection to something, especially a drug, transplant, antigen, or environmental conditions, without adverse reaction
Typically I don’t use THC in the daytime but as I am a medicinal patient I may take some when my body tells me I need it. For the most part, my day to day dosing is never the same. Our bodies cannot become chemically dependent on Cannabis, we build a tolerance based on various factors.
– Consumption History and Usage (the body becomes really good at eliminating the drug so you need more next time)
– Physical & Mental Composure (the way our cells react in our minds/bodies)
You can also build tolerance around situations and people!! The amount of patience practiced in certain environments or around certain individuals builds strength in this very premise.
Tolerance: the ability or willingness to tolerate something, in particular the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with.
So what to do?
Like everything (and let’s settle on cannabis for this topic), you may need a break. A 1-2 week hiatus. Listen, marijuana isn’t addictive so you may just notice anxiety or bad sleep patterns returning, but trust me the rest will set you straight.
Advice on resetting your Cannabis tolerance for rec users only!
– Get rid of the weed man!
– Put away any paraphernalia/roaches in ashtrays/anything that triggers your use
– Drink loads of water (this is the universal must to most ‘advice’ columns)
– Do things you normally would without pot. Your clarity will motivate you, not disassociate you from things you enjoy
So – tolerance level for me tomorrow after these 3 cookies?? 100% back on pussy mode and that’s good enough for this momma!
