THIS. IS, COURAGE.

CBC: Montreal Canadiens star Carey Price will be away from the team while voluntarily taking part in the NHL/National Hockey League Players’ Association assistance program.
A join media release from the NHL and NHLPA on Wednesday announced the 34-year-old netminder’s decision. It did not estimate a time for his return and said there would be no further comment.
General manager Marc Bergevin and head coach Dominique Ducharme are providing a media update at 11:15 a.m.
The news follows remarks from Ducharme on Wednesday that Price was unlikely to practice before the season start as he recovered from an illness not related to COVID-19. The superstar goaltender was also recovering from surgery to repair a torn meniscus.
This is hero stuff from a guy who doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone, anymore.
Giving up is not doing something about what you’re dealing with. To reach up for a helping hand from another human takes supernatural courage and that’s the only narrative here as far as I’m concerned.
It doesn’t matter what Carey Price is dealing with, what matters is that Carey Price is once again setting an example for ALL of us and his NHL brethren.
It’s not just OK to not be OK, it’s the norm.
No one is immune from the struggle. Life will always have obstacles and our job is to find the individual leverage to overcome those obstacles. Turning around and going home isn’t in Carey Price’s DNA so he’s going to school to learn about how to evolve into the person he wants to be.
That’s life. Literally.
What we learn when we admit to needing counsel gives us the tools to calm our minds and navigate through the storms life ALWAYS brings.
Carey Price has my respect and today he deserves yours too. Your mind matters, games don’t.
