Drake is facing backlash on social media after sharing his attempt to AirDrop a woman who he thought was “a dime” a photo of herself.
The rapper, who is currently in St Tropez, shared an Instagram Story of a woman on her phone at a restaurant Thursday (21 July) with the caption: “Tried to AirDrop this woman a pic of herself cause she’s a dime.” He also added a shrugging and a crying-with-laughter emoji.
People quickly called Drake out on social media for sharing the photo of an unassuming woman without her permission and for attempting to send her a photo of herself without speaking to her.
“Drake being famous doesn’t make this any less creepy,” one person wrote on Twitter alongside the photo.
Maybe I’m new to creeping women by taking their pic (unsolicited) objectifying her on social media, then AirDropping said woman, that pic, while she’s with her husband. It might work for the world’s #1 streaming artist, but it’s CREEEEEEEPPPPYYY, AF.
Or so I’m told, and the internet seems to agree.
Always leave your airdrop on 😂 @Drake pic.twitter.com/DwINx2bSG1

I heard from Shay about this and it's obviously weird and such because there was no consent given to take a photo and Airdrop it that same woman just because you think they're attractive
But mfs wanna be like "Drake drops a trash album and it's got him doing this" like… WHAT? https://t.co/9Gi4jc1OGw

Taking a photo of someone without their knowledge to then air drop to them to flirt is creepy. Don’t let Drake lead you into a restraining order. pic.twitter.com/BXahmM4Qrs

There’s a HUGE difference between taking random pictures and a picture of a woman without her permission to objectify her.
Drake did the latter because he’s an entitled creepy weirdo. He doesn’t discriminate. Young or old, Drake will mark his territory anytime with any girl because that’s who the man is. He doesn’t try to hide it either.
Drake hides his perversion and authentically pervy self behind his progressively shitty music. His last two albums have been about featuring other people, so he doesn’t have to do the work. It looks like he’d rather spend his time investing in Dave’s Hot Chicken franchises, objectifying women of all ages. Like he thinks he should be enjoying the spoils of his fame and treating women like receptacles of his favor because he’s tired.
Or he’s just a straight-up creep.
It’s “choose your narrative” Sunday. You decide.
