They have one job; get to January 20th without contributing to the further erosion of American society at large.
Instead, the political party best known for rank hypocrisy and corruption has decided that doing everything in their power to contribute to the martyring of the most repugnant fuck stick ever to hold office, Donald Trump, aka The Big Orange Daddy, aka The Bloated Bitch From Orange Hell, aka (place anything that describes disgusting humans here) would be the smarter political play.
One job.
It doesn’t even matter that Trump deserves to be impeached. There is ample evidence showing that there is a fatal flaw inside the idea that because Trump speaks so simplistically and ambiguously he can effectively deliver dangerous messages without technically saying anything incriminating. He is the political equivalent to that stereotypical mobster who gets caught on a wiretap saying something like “I gotta talk to that guy about that thing” and expects to be vindicated, even though Vinny (that guy) did murder Frankie (that thing).
Looking back at how the day unfolded, here’s the end of Trump’s speech this morning:
“We’re going to the Capitol” to give Republicans the “boldness that they need to take back our country.”

Trump, for all intents and purposes, rallied a bunch of yahoos to Washington and openly praised and encouraged them to not just protest, but to believe in vast, unproven conspiracy theories that called into question the legitimacy of the election, and the republic itself. It was a classic case of playing with fire, only this time the man with the nuclear codes was the main fanner of flames.
Twitter and Facebook have issued permanent suspensions against Trump, causing his followers to incorrectly decry the alleged violation of free speech, despite the social media giants’ status as private companies. For a party so beholden, allegedly, to private companies, you’d think they would know the difference between a government policy and a private company’s independence to handle their own user affairs. Still, Trump supporters were everywhere decrying the evil left-wing tech sector as a new Orwellian menace, and the beginnings of Trump’s journey into Martyrville had begun.
I’ve lost 50k+ followers this week. The radical left and their big tech allies cannot marginalize, censor, or silence the American people. This is not China, this is United States of America, and we are a free country. https://t.co/Xupd0N1hea

All the Democrats had to do was wait less than two weeks and he would have been gone, off to either create or become the face, of some right-wing, media propaganda company. Sure, there was always the risk that Trump would outdo even himself and create 11th-hour controversies out of thin air, but so what? The idea that he could foment an actual civil war might not sound so outlandish to many people until you look at the typical Trumpian demographic and realize that those most fervent about a revolution probably can’t spell revolution.
The irony is he hates every single of of these neckbeards. He just used them to try to take out the entire line of succession by selling a rigged election for 4 years. https://t.co/195WDXBHgI

Interestingly, albeit for entirely different reasons, MAGA and BLM seem to be on the same page in that they both want the current system to burn to the ground. What the Democrats appear to be banking on is the notion that even with less than two weeks until Joe Biden is sworn in, it is important to act on principles, not timelines. Of course, this would be incorrectly assuming the DNC had principles.
America is fractured, beaten down through demagoguery, polarization, conspiracy theories, and the most pronounced hypocrisy we have ever seen. From elected officials to the average voter, there seems to be an infinite amount of space to betray your own integrity for a momentary spike in adrenaline, a byproduct of “owning” their political enemies.
Nancy Pelosi, instead of kicking the hornet’s nest, could have opted for sound bites of hope when discussing the future of America, but instead opted to play Russian roulette with democracy instead. Cartoon By Marian Kamensky, Austria
