The GOAT of women’s hockey Hayley Wickenheiser has been promoted by the Toronto Maple Leafs to the role of Assistant General Manager. I am so here for this. The Leafs will finally have a winner in the building.
Hayley is the GOAT in every sense of the word. She has accomplished more in women’s hockey than any other female and is also a doctor.
However, any time there is a woman being hired in hockey the hockey bros come out of their mom’s basements to scream diversity hire.

Does she get this job if she’s not female?

I don't think this will last very long.

1st round drop out team. Hopefully she’ll help….or is it another political correctness move again?

Leafs focusing on the “woke” which is likely more important than the Cup..

What a sad PR stunt by Toronto.
Maybe if Hayley was the sole assistant GM this would be news…But the fact Dubois had to hire two other male counterparts just shows he doesn't actually believe in her and is doing this just to look good

Hockey bros are so predictable. Hayley is a WINNER. Winning is something the Toronto Maple Leafs haven’t seen since 1967.
Not that we need to but let us run down the laundry list of Hayley’s accomplishments to really hammer the point home.
11x Gold Medalist
6x silver medalists
First Ballot Hockey Hall Of Fame
Canadian Walk Of Fame
Athletes in Excellence Award from The Foundation for Global Sports Development
CAAWS Wall of Influence Award (awarded in 2017)
Officer of the Order of Canada by Governor General David Johnston
In 2003, Wickenheiser became the first woman to score a goal playing in a men’s semi-professional league
Contributed to at least 10 gold medals for Canada at the 4 Nations Cup tournaments (1996, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010). At the 2006 Four Nations Cup, she served as team captain.
DOCTOR OF MEDICINE
If you ask her what she thinks her biggest accomplishment is in he career this is what she said in an interview with the CBC in 2017.
“What I’m most proud about today is that a little girl can walk into any rink in this country with a bag and a stick over her shoulder.”
GOD BLESS YOU HAYLEY.
Hayley created change for women everywhere to be able to play hockey. She is a proven winner, a doctor of medicine and an incredible human being. Her just being in the building making day-to-day decisions puts the Maple Leafs in a better spot than they were in yesterday.
Hockey bros, shove your diversity hire take up your ass and check the stats. Hayley is the GOAT. PERIOD. STOP.
PS: First order of business Hayley, change that god-awful goal song.
