Here we are in Week 12 and you’re still coming back for more. Fair, we have a pretty good thing going. No more bye weeks left so it’s time to let all your horses out of the barn and let ’em run. Of course, you’re probably shy a few horses otherwise your roster would be stable.
THAT WAS A GREAT JOKE!
But seriously, it’s time to make that final push for the playoffs which are just around the corner. You might have a stud like Christian McCaffrey but you still have a…
Who am I kidding, if you have CMC you likely don’t have issues. Let’s rephrase; you need a few guys to keep you afloat and you want to somehow BEAT a team with CMC in the regular season and hopefully again in the playoffs.
So how are you going to do it?
You’re going to need a few guys that can spread out the air game. The NFL has a good thing going with the receivers this season, not to mention the tight ends we chat about every week. Lucky for you, we have a collection of the finest middle-of-the-road guys that are possibly still available in your local league.
You asked we delivered:
Treylon Burks – He’s not exactly a guy that should be available but maybe there are still leagues out there sleeping on the rookie wideout in Tennessee. He’s rostered in 67% of leagues in the Sleeper app but only started in 24% That should concern you. If you happen to be in the 33% of the leagues where he’s available then you need to scoop him up ASAP. This isn’t up for discussion. DO IT! He blew up against Green Bay and it seems he’s become a trusted part of the offense. Again, how do you not have him already? GO!
Joshua Palmer – Plain and simple, Mike Williams is out and Palmer gets number two duties. Justin Herbert has been taking control of the Chargers and with just shy of 40 passing attempts per game in his last four games, Palmer is getting involved at just the right time. He has a pair of 106-yard games in his last three games with a pair of TDs last week. Palmer jumped up to 77% rostered after a big week but still only started in 41% of leagues. Sure, he isn’t a premiere option but most of you have had injuries run through your roster so it’s time to get smart before that big stretch run.
Two for two so far… Let’s keep going!
Mike White – OK, this one isn’t a serious start but he had a monster debut last season before fizzling out. Does Mike White strike lightning twice? He’s rostered in 7% of Sleeper leagues and started in 3% Show yourselves 3%. Don’t actually start Mike White.
Geno Smith – Did the Seahawks unearth the MVP-calibre Geno out of the dark? The Jets didn’t utilize his talents properly but maybe the Seahawks get another run with the backup; the last guy left for Denver. He’s rostered in the lion’s share of leagues but still only started in 42% across the board. Pardon me, but, what? He’s the 8th-ranked QB. You’ve seen him play and he’s winning football games. We talked about 20+ point QBs down the stretch and he’s a freaking lock.
George Kittle – It’s tough to brush away a monster week from Kittle so we won’t. Jimmy G had a big week along with Kittle in Mexico on Monday night and with the preparation the 49ers did to get acclimated to the altitude in Mexico, the same will likely be assumed going down to sea level. Kittle is basically 100% owned and started so having him here seems dumb but Kittle has been a forgotten son and maybe last week’s show was all he needed to revitalize things. Start Kittle against a tough Saints defense against tight ends. Yell at me if it backfires.
There you have it, five starts for the price of four.
Good luck on Sunday, you clearly need it.
