I’ve lived a couple of lives. I’ve lived as a (forced) self-righteous religious zealot draped in the white privilege of the ‘Christian and Missionary Alliance Church from 9 – 26ish.
I’ve lived the life of an entitled radio knob draped in the white privilege of executive relationships and political parties/media knobs from 26 – 44.
I’ve lived as a human being who’s here to serve the greater good and tries every day to be self-aware and in tune with giving my privilege away to those who need it from 44 – to the present.
This is where I get to bring all those dorks together.
Yesterday, Doug Ford’s junked-up personal security dick told Caryma S’ad, a woman of color and independent journalist, cartoonist, and satirist. She wasn’t welcome at his political rally at the congress center Etobicoke. She’s smart and records everything:

Caryma is a Lawyer in excellent standing, an activist, and an independent media/content provider. I’ve known her and worked with her for two years, unaware of a person with better intentions. She bleeds kindness and common sense. She always conducts herself professionally and has never been a nuisance or insulative.
She does cartoons about current events, political commentary, and general hypocrisy where the marginalized are concerned. Doug took exception, as did Ivanna Yelich, her boyfriend/Sun scribe Brian Lilley (Ford’s comms sec), who Caryma often satirizes, AAAANNNDDD that’s why Caryma wasn’t allowed into “Dougie’s Great White Blow Job” today. 
They exercised their power and white privilege to keep a woman of color out of a democratic political rally because they are terrible people with the values of the colonial master race they are protecting.
I know the same people Doug knows.
I know what he and Rob did on that BIG old desk in the Mayor’s office when councilors were gone for the evening.
I know who he is. I know what he does daily.
I know about his friendships with Bell executives, who help curate the lies and massage his reputation. He’s the REAL publisher of The Toronto Sun. Ms. Batra is the publisher in name and title, but she gets A LOT of help from Doug Ford and his press secretary, Ivana Yelich (who was behind Caryma’s blacklisting).
I know who Doug’s donors are and what he gets in return for their donations (hi-ways). I know about the greasy shit, too. The kind of stuff that destroys families and political careers.

This is where my 49 years and three different lives come together. Right here. And none of it would be possible if I hadn’t met a brave 32-year-old Lawyer/activist who helped me see the oppression she fights.
I will spend the next 26 days airing concerns about Doug Ford’s values. Instead of reading another shitty blog post by CTV about how many hospitals he’s letting his friends build for us, we’ll paint a picture of who he is to help you make an informed decision on June 2.
He’s not a good person, and we can’t have people/parties who hate us lead us.
Plus, That shit with Caryma is next level wrong, so I’m all the way in, and I’m smarter than him, so let’s have some fun. He threatened her, and I don’t threaten people in return.
I just do shit and plan on doing that shit TO Doug for the next month or so.
