Who would have thunk it?
Doug Ford’s PR stunt during yesterday’s deadly Toronto blizzard was officially nuclear and you can blame Bell and Rogers for blowing the premier all day yesterday for his pre-arranged “Snow Hero Day” with media directors scripting the entire thing.
Not only were CP24 in on it, they proudly touted Doug as a fucking snow shoveling hero even though certain media people (the ones who make reporters regret their career choices) knew it was a total fucking farce.
This was pre-arranged.

As was this…
thank u so much for illegally driving around on tv as my partner tries to find a way to go into the ICU which is over capacity at a pay rate capped by your government https://t.co/4lBgcZ9xLU

This sure looks like it was (can’t confirm but we’re close)
Maskless with a stranger in his vehicle. Doug Ford is the definition of irresponsible. #ONStorm #onpoli pic.twitter.com/khbqb58DQi

Colin DiMelo’s tweet was definitely pre-arranged.
If Doug Ford believes that shovelling out drivers in Etobicoke is what the Premier of Ontario should be doing in a pandemic and snowstorm then clearly he doesn’t grasp his role in government.
This explains his disastrous performance and falling polls. pic.twitter.com/krSaCl3b8u

Don’t act surprised.
MSM in Canada isn’t unbiased. We do not have any major outlets that do thorough reporting. Not since the inception of social media. They do what you and I do – pander for clicks unless those clicks offend a convenient relationship belonging to one of the following:
- CEO
- Board Member
- CFO
- Whale Clients
- Banking Partner
- Political Partner
- Religious Affiliation
- Personal or professional reputations
- Financial collusion between
This morning’s Breakfast Television show is an OUTSTANDING example of that.
Sid took issue with Ford faking his ‘Snow Job’ yesterday and voiced his opinion. After the show the clip BT put out on social media disappeared only to come back 2 hours later with a softer headline and note from Sid saying he’s never been censored on air.
Just on Twitter, which absolutely happened until Roger’s shit their baby pants and put the clip back up, only with a nicer headline.
Deleted Tweet:
New Tweet:
Sid’s tweet:
Sid failed to mention the original post that was pulled down. His employer asked him to put this out so he did and it fucking REEKS.
Notice Sid stipulating he’s never been censored on air?
Twitter isn’t “on air’.
Here’s what happened:
Someone with “Team Mr. Plow” saw the clip, called over to BT/Rogers, they removed the clip, we all based them for being a corrupt power center, they put it back up with a bullshit new headline and a little note from Sid saying “this company is the best” that he was probably asked to post.
Kind of like how Rogers and Sportsnet fired some high-priced hockey guys a few years ago then wrote their “I’m leaving for new opportunity” Tweets FOR THEM.
With politics and media, it’s about controlling narratives and reputations and if you understand evolutionary psychology, that’s impossible, but they try to do it anyway.
Here’s how: Develop ‘Stretegic Relationships”
Remember Rob Ford’s former press secretary Adrian Batra?
She’s now the editor of The Toronto Sun
Adrian employs Brian Lilley as a writer. She hired him just after Ford took office. He’s one of the founders of Rebel Media and a HUGE neo-con/Ford supporter.
Brian lives with Doug Ford’s press secretary Ivana Yelich. Wonder how Brian gets all the scoops? He’s a tool for Dougie and Adrian. You know, the agent of a power center. Brian and Ivana don’t care. They keep cashing those agency checks.
Oh, look at this!
you forgot this guy …. I'm embarrassed for them really pic.twitter.com/Vq9Y6XcOZq

These cats aren’t alone. Radio, TV, Print – they are all owned by 3-5 major corporations who collude against Canadians DAILY to service a relationship of political, religious, or financial convenience.
It’s not new. It’s been like this for years but social media, for all its bullshit, offers transparency.
We live in a great country with a very serious MSM collusion issue. That collusion stems from different things but centers on the desire of certain stakeholders to be protected at all costs. We question more (as we should) than we used to because the old MSM funnel model doesn’t work anymore.
John Tavares’s best friend can make anyone a hockey insider.
Anyone with a phone is a reporter
Any original content can be news even if it doesn’t air on CTV, CBC or CITYTV. The days of being blessed with a broadcast service contract are fucking GONE and what we’ve been force-fed for years doesn’t cut it anymore because we’re not as dumb as they’ve been telling each other we are.
I talk to MSM folks almost every day and they’re sad, too. There are plenty of adults who work in MSM who do the job because they love the idea of the job and want to do it well. Some think they’ve been anointed as “journalists’ by their business cards, but almost all of them are agents of their CEO’s personal and professional interests whether they are conscious of it or not.
That’s what makes this “Snow Job’ so interesting to me. I expect this from Dougie. I also expect it from MSM but rarely have I seen it all come together in one beautiful example of everything that makes me sick to my stomach.
I think it’s time for new media to put old media over their knee for a good old-fashioned spanking. Free of back-scratching and boardroom blowies.
Wouldn’t that be fun?
