So it came to my attention today that I actually thought I might be making to big a deal out of this #Coronavirus scare. After all the reading and thinking and overthinking and wondering if this is as bad as it is I had to talk to 4 different people I trusted to confirm…it might be. If we don’t treat it like it’s worse than I think it is.
I did a shit pile of mental math today between calling my parents, Jim and Susan Blundell, to ask them to do some reading on mortality rates because they’re both in their late 60’s and are supposed to fly out to BC to see my brother in a couple of weeks.
-Infectious disease expert and foremost authority on this subject, Dr. Anthony Fauci said he’s not flying for fun anytime soon and he’s the foremost expert in infectious disease on CNN’s town hall on coronavirus (7:22)
If he’s not getting on a plane, I’m not getting on a plane and that’s fucking HUGE to hear it from a guy who gets all the odds and angles.
-THEY CANCELED SPORTS AROUND THE WORLD
-The Prime Ministers wife has it and you can bet your Beaver Tail’s she’s one of the cleanest humans alive.
-They’re instituting a travel ban in Canada by Monday morning. To what extent, I don’t know, but the government is telling Canadians to get home before you ‘can’t’.
OFFICIAL ADVICE TO CANADIANS ABROAD:
We recommend that Canadian travellers return to Canada via commercial means while they remain available. pic.twitter.com/f8DC5goS3n

I expect tomorrow, we’ll all be told to stay close to home.
It’s not because we’re all going to die. No one is saying that.
The reason the Canadian Government is about to get serious with #COVID-19 is as a Country, we have to ‘Flatten the curve” which will prevent what’s happening in Spain, Italy, South Korea, France China, and now America, from happening in Canada.
The ideal “flatten the curve” response to the #coronavirus pandemic. Switching from stopping infections to slowing & postponing them.

Asking Canadians to take extreme measures like this is meant to benefit our health and freedom, LONG TERM and avoid having the streets policed by the Canadian Military ticketing folks for going to get milk.
That’s what’s happening around the world and we have a responsibility to our families and neighbors to practice some really healthy social distancing and personal hygiene.
In Canada, a notice went out yesterday advising folks to call #811 if you feel you may have symptoms of COVID-19, not 911. It’s an outstanding way to do your part of not overloading first responders by having a professional help you identify your issues and help with what’s next.
What’s with Manitoba & Ontario?

Think of us like a neighbor in a Sicilian courtyard playing our trumpet for the quarantined masses trying to bring music to the world.
In the wake of the #lockdown in #Italy due to #COVIDー19 #coronavirus, professional trumpet player #albertoanguzza makes his trumpet “sing”—playing IMAGINE on his balcony. #MusicHeals for sure. pic.twitter.com/p5UBWF4Wmi

Only our trumpet will be guys like me, and Chris Mancuso with no shirt.
IN REGARDS TO SHUG”S POST ABOUT KYLE LOWRY HAVING COVID-19
Shug had a post saying Lowry tested positive for the virus that made me do a bunch of stuff around the house today that I normally wouldn’t normally be doing because I’m practicing some serious social distancing. That’s responsible. I’m part of the solution and we all should take this seriously.
Which I did Immediately when I started to get a bad feeling and called Shug. He was out for dinner with his GF and parents so I said “I’ll take it down, send out a tweet apologizing because I’m not cool with it and Shug said he agreed and we said let’s take it down. If we fucked it up, we fucked it up but when I say we I mean I’m Shug’s partner and I know his sources are terrific. We really pride ourselves on breaking lots of news and we do a really good job and rub it in, a lot. And this has always been the process but the world is super tight right now for good reason.
However, I will say however I don’t know what ‘All of the members WHO HAVE BEEN TESTED’ represents, I certainly hope none of the Raptors players or staff or anyone has it and I’ll let Shug speak for himself tomorrow on the Blog.

As far as me not knowing who Kayla Gray was, watch this because I’m tired and I’m going to bed. Just remember, when you go low, we go high. She seems lovely and it was a great day for bored sports reporters.
