In a move that could cause a domino effect, Canada’s largest carrier has increased its data overage fees.
According to an updated version of its website, Rogers is increasing its data overage fees from $5 per 100MB to $7 per 100MB, or $70 per 1GB. The extra $2 equates to a 40 percent increase, or a $20 increase per gigabyte.
Oh hey Rogers, it’s me. The local Canadian citizen who needs a phone. If I accidentally go over my data limit next month I guess I’m going to have to sacrifice the purchase of diapers and baby formula for your magical floating internet. I mean don’t worry, the weight of your ‘local’ corporation is great for the Canadian economy. I can’t wait to hear what Bell and Telus have to say and when they will also be hiking their rates to match yours.
Sincerely a Canadian.
***This is a shitty one for Me. Rogers has many arms and I really enjoyed my time there but I can’t shit on our writer’s ability to voice their frustration in the real world. Let’s hope they feel the same way.
