This has to make EVERYONE, not just Flyers fans, feel great today.
23-year-old Swedish d man/Flyers stud Oscar Lindblom has just finished treatment for Ewings Sarcoma and now, he’s on the ice chopping it up ready for the NHL playoffs “COVID19 CUP” run. (there won’t be one btw…hot prediction)

I don’t know if he has plans to play if the season picks up again, but he shouldn’t.
Ewings Sarcoma is a bone/soft tissue cancer most common in young adults, Symptoms are innocuous bone breaks, swelling, and high fever. Lindblom wasn’t feeling great in November and after several exams, he was diagnosed with it in December. The 5-year survival rate of Ewings Sarcoma for someone is his age group is less than 50% so I hate to pour water on this remarkable story of human will, but should Lindblom chance playing??
We know they treated Oskar with chemo or radiation and as with all cancer patients in treatment, his immune system if fucked. If I’m Momma Lindblom, I’m having a serious talk with Oskar before he deems himself ‘fit to play’ out of concern for his ability to fight off any virus, much less one that’s killed 120.000 Americans to date.
I’m not saying he shouldn’t play if he’s cleared but if there’s one player who shouldn’t in a hockey tournament that lasts for two months even if he IS cleared It’s my Oskar.
Take the rest of the year (and your GF) and move to northern Sweden and live in a hyperbaric cottage eating organic smoothies. Spend your days chopping wood, hunting for food, and sexing your girlfriend. You don’t need a locker room full of heavy breathers and horkers flying in from around this infected planet to sit naked with you after going through Chemotherapy. You need the wilderness, some bone broth soup, and the company of someone who looks like Tiger Wood’s Ex 20 years ago.
Let it go Oskar. Let’s prep for a big 2021 when it starts in 2022.
And, well done young, man. Well, done.
