Call me crazy, but I’m pretty sure Masai and Bobby though Serge was gonna start at the center position for the Raptors next year.

After securing Fred Van Vleet for the next 4 years the Raptors suddenly found themselves without a starting or back up big-man after Serge Icocka signed for 2 years at $19 mil with Kawhi and the Clippers. That is a big FAT hole to plug at both ends of the floor too, kids. Fucking massive.
I already knew Ibaka was gone, probably for the fear that he couldn’t be replaced. I can guarantee Webster and Masai have a Plan B and C already, being C as Gasol and Boucher. There has to be a versatile big somewhere on the market.

Marc Gasol informed the Raptors he was on his way to play in Europe to close out his NBA career and until Serge left, they were somehow cool with it so clearly the Raptors and Masai thought Serge was coming back.
Serge Ibaka agrees to two-year deal with Clippers; Marc Gasol also leaving? #NBA #NBATwitter #NBAFreeAgency #TorontoRaptors #Toronto #Raptors #MarcGasol #SergeIbaka #LosAngelesClippers #LosAngeles #Clippers

Now Masai and Bobby are on a Zoom call begging Gasol to stick around because Chris Boucher just became the Toronto Raptors #1 Centre and that’s No Bueno.
Despite a championship in our trophy case and operating as a model of professionalism and excellence over the past few years and here they are very clearly hooped at the centre position unless they go out and sign Boogie Cousins. The problem with Boogie? Almost everything from a personal perspective including threatening his ex-GF with murder during a heated argument a day before their wedding. Professionally he’s one of the most talented all-around centres in the NBA but he’s a fucking weirdo.
So congratulations to Chris Boucher on becoming a starting centre in the NBA for the Toronto Raptors.
