Daily Mail – A substitute teacher working at a New Jersey middle school has been charged with repeatedly having sex with one of her male students.
Nataly Lopez, 27, of Elizabeth, was taken into custody last week and booked into jail on charges of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Lopez taught classes at Nicholas S LaCorte-Peterstown School No 3 in Elizabeth but was employed by a private company called Source4Teachers, which provides substitute teachers to school districts.
Prosecutors Meghan Tomlinson said Lopez engaged in sexual acts with the male victim inside her car on two separate occasions, and the pair also exchanged sexually explicit messages online.
The Elizabeth Police Department learned of the allegations concerning Lopez last week and on Wednesday contacted the prosecutor’s office, triggering an investigation by the special victims unit, reported NJ.com.
Lopez was arrested at home on Thursday afternoon and taken to Union County Jail to await her initial court appearance.
I’m always torn/disgusted by these stories when they break. More torn than disgusted, because I’m a guy. Let me say that all things are not equal and there is an enormous double standard when it comes to this stuff in schools. If it’s a girl student, we’re pulling our hair out and rightfully so. Only a sick male fuck would steal the innocence of a young girl and prey on student-teacher trust. I’m 100% on board with the father of the girl getting a chance to kick the shit out of the male teacher for a few hours in a dark room with no witnesses.
When it’s a female teacher and a male student… errrr… I… aaahhhh… It’s different. In the eyes of the law, there is zero difference. I get it. But when you’re a guy, and you grew up with female teachers that you used to fantasize about, there’s a relational component to the teacher/car sex stories that fill you with a sort of jealousy.
I was in love with my grade 5 French teacher, Ms. Babyn. Blonde, huge guns, great body, glasses, and she smelled like puberty. I lived for when she bent over to help someone with their work and hoped the kid didn’t catch on for 10 minutes. That’s how much I loved this woman. She was a fiery francophone, and she turned me on. In the 5th grade.
The Mary Kay LeTorneau case was wild too. I was 16 when she went to jail for drilling her 7th-grade student’s brains out and having his kid, but I could only wonder one thing. “Does this kid know that he’s a hero to teenage boys around the world?”
It’s still wrong. But, if you don’t think this kid isn’t a hero in the locker room with his stories or isn’t being hounded for information at sleepovers, he is. It’s such a shitty thing to say, but its true.
