Kirby was Canada’s best forward and his tournament is over after this awkward collision during an exhibition game against Russia at the WJHC last night.
It’s a wrist injury and it’s bad enough for the Blackhawks forward that he has been ruled out of the tourney which is sooooooo fucking 2020 for Canadians.
This tournament is a right of passage for Canadian hockey fans and kids like Kirby look at the World Juniors like it’s the holy grail of their Jr hockey careers. Legend status is afforded to every Canadian kid who reps that jersey and Kirby Dach is no different so this has to be CRUSHING for the kid
He’ll be fine, the country will rally around Canada and they’ll their pool sucks. Canada gets Germany on Boxing Day, Slovakia on the 27th, Switzerland on the 29th, and Finland on the 31st and you can watch/stream it all on TSN or the TSN app.
