Albert Pujols will go down as one of the best baseball players of his era. A sure bet to be on his way to Cooperstown as soon as he is eligible, Pujols has dominated pitching for over two decades. A true professional, who’s beloved in the clubhouse and adored by fans.
On Tuesday night, Pujols’ Angels took on the Blue Jays, and after a 3-1 game full of home runs, Pujols hit one out of the park. I was lucky enough to be in attendance with three of my nephews and what I witnessed during the play, was absolutely nothing compared to what I was able to capture after the game.
Near the end of the game, a set of parents brought their son down to the second row, within earshot of first base. The little guy started shouting and cheering at Pujols, so much, Albert turned to take a peek at the commotion. He then witnessed a huge smile, a ton of joy, and he couldn’t take the smile off his face. The inning continued and Pujols was looking over and waving and smiling between every pitch. He wanted the little man to know he had his full attention in the middle of the game. It was then I knew something special was brewing.
What came next still gives me chills.

WAY TO GO NICO!!!!!
Unbelievable. First class from Albert who is the father of a daughter with down syndrome. Pujols is a pillar in the down syndrome community and his grace was on full display Tuesday night in Toronto.
Shug, thank you thank you and thank you for touching base with me. I love your article and the video. So happy you were right there to see it. The magic of this moment was perfect. We live in S. Fla and had to travel to Canada to make it happen!

Here is another angle from Nico’s dad, Joe, as Nico has been trying to get Albert’s attention since he’s been old enough to attend games.
