Jake Evans is back at the teams hotel. He’s fine.
That was a GREAT hit. Seriously. Mark Scheifele skated 200 feet to prevent an empty net goal and Jake Evans came around the net with his head down and got licked. Plain and simple.
If he gets suspended for the hit, it’s because he came from Saskatoon to lay the hit. He’s guilty of charging but that’s it.
What he has going for him? He’s trying to prevent a goal in the dying seconds of the game and Scheifele has no history of this stuff.
I have no vested interest in this series so I can objectively say Scheifele’s hit on Evans, as unfortunate as it was, was nothing more that a HUGE hit on a player who should have had his head on a swivel coming around the net.
No reason for Scheifele to throw this hit like that on Evans. Absolute Trash

You learn that in novice hockey along with ‘don’t throw the puck up the middle’.
