When people over that side of the pond (point of reference, I am writing this from Dublin) think of Ireland they probably think of this…
Things have gotten a bit better lately thanks to this…
and even random sighting such as this
Unfortunately, like everywhere there a few idiots who like to ruin things for everyone. Over here in Ireland, we call them Scumbags, and there are lots of them. These wastes of life have no consideration for anyone or anything.
Case in point, hitting a bit to close to home for me… in my own community, this happened.
Here is another view…
And here are the scumbags I was referring too, armed with Meat Cleavers and all!
Look, this is a small but shitty part of this wonderful little island over here. I plan on introducing you to all that is wonderful about my adopted homeland, but a word of warning there are these black marks as well. They are everywhere, just like everywhere else in the world, we are not immune.
Last week a group of about 10 teenagers followed a 14-year-old kid home on the train and proceeded to beat the living shit out of him… because they are scumbags and have nothing better to do with their useless lives.
I am often asked about the differences between Ireland and Canada. One big one is what they do with the kids over here after school…. nothing. There is no after-school Chess club, no band practice, or Soccer team. At least not by the schools. Teachers over here couldn’t give a crap about what happens to the kids once the class is over… they get in their cars and get out of dodge as fast as they can.
Yes, I am generalizing. They are not bad people, they’ve just been programmed by a flawed system that has their priorities all ass backward. So these scumbags, most of who probably don’t even go to school have nothing better to do than be anti-social.
So, be thankful for the extracurricular activities at schools over there, or at least that were in my time. I assume they still do?
Where are the cops in all this… Don’t get me started there. I’ll save that for another time.
I suppose that ruins our chances for sponsorship from Air Canada! Oops, sorry Dean!
At least they haven’t burned down Keogh’s yet!
