Source – Ever since the first teaser trailer got record views on YouTube, a lot of people have been very excited about the IT movie.
Not everyone, though.
On Monday’s edition of ITV’s This Morning, two professional clowns came on the show to give their fairly blunt thoughts about Hollywood’s latest Stephen King adaptation.
“It’s nothing to do with clowning, and everything to do with a cheap Hollywood movie that’s taken millions of pounds,” says Rob Bowker, also known as Bibbledy Bob. “Because they don’t need Brad Pitt, they don’t need Tom Cruise… the guy who’s playing the clown — never heard of him.”
“I’ve got no problem with the film,” he continued. “It’s a cheap budget movie, poor CGI graphics… I reckon the guy who invented the Fidget Spinner has also done this film because they’ve spent as little money as possible for maximum effect.”
These guys are bitching but Stephen King’s “It” might be the best thing to ever happen to these two clowns. If that movie stops Rob from being “Bibbledy Bob” and allows him to walk down the street to get a pack of smokes without his neighbors hustling kids into their houses, so be it.
Clowning seems like it’s had its time and now seems more like an old school cosplay for people who want to spend a suspicious amount of time with kids they dont know. It stands to reason if clowns have fallen out of favor because they scare the shit out of people for completely understandable reasons you can think about putting the makeup and migrate toward a less creepy hobby.
