A 2-year-old died in an Ontario hospital, overwhelmed by wait times. She died in a hallway waiting for treatment. I don’t know what she died of, but it was unnecessary. Unnecessary.

Source: The “sudden and unexpected” death of a two-year-old at Lakeridge Health Ajax Pickering Hospital Tuesday is being investigated by Ontario’s chief Coroner.
There are few details available about the death of the two-year-old. The child’s death has been widely discussed on social media though it’s been widely speculated, though not confirmed, the child died in the hallway of the hospital after attempts to provide CPR were unsuccessful. An attempt to get confirmation about the child’s death and details surrounding it on Wednesday morning from Lakeridge Health were denied due to issues surrounding “patient confidentiality.”
Health Minister Sylvia Jones responded to the tragedy on Thursday morning in a news conference saying, “I cannot imagine how challenging this must be for the caregivers, the family of that patient. I will let the investigation and the hospital do the work they need to do to communicate with that family. I don’t think any of us can comprehend how deeply saddened we are when we hear about the death of a young patient in Ontario.” Dr. Doris Grinspun, CEO of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) said she didn’t want to comment on any discussion on social media about the death of the two-year-old, however she said “I was told directly that the nurses did everything that was possible to save the life of this child. I cannot begin to think how unfathomable the pain the family feels and is undergoing.”
What are we doing? How can you not feel this if you’re a human who can do something about health care in Ontario?
How is it humanly possible to choose your political fortune over the life of this beautiful 2-year-old? HOW?
There are two words for the death of this two year old.

Ford's in it to privatize healthcare as well. I'm sure Galen Weston is promising him some kickbacks. Ford, his government of grifters and Weston and whoever else is running on the gravy train to privatize healthcare are to blame for this child's tragic death.

This is horrific and so heartbreaking and soul crushing. @SylviaJonesMPP & @fordnation need to be charged criminally for doing this to children with their agenda to crash public health for Translational Organized Crime #EnoughisEnough! @JustinTrudeau #cdnpoli What the hell Canada

I stopped shitting on Doug Ford and this government’s attempt to break health care in Ontario because better-qualified people were doing it. It makes no sense watching a man and his criminal friends continue to kill the people they say they serve, including not giving a fuck about the death of a 2-year-old lying in a hallway waiting to be helped. It’s such a dirge beat to cover.
This isn’t a Covid or mask post. This is a care post.
The death of a 2-year-old is just another speed bump to Doug Ford and Ontario’s kleptocratic government.
Today, his right-hand troll Sylvia Jones pretended she cared, passed the buck, and said she didn’t want to talk about it.
Doug Ford’s Conservative news partners in MSM don’t either.
Parenthetically, I spent a chunk of my afternoon on a call where we discussed the health burden of endemic SARS-cov-2.
I do not regard anecdotes about chest x rays at a community hospital as a useful index of the health and economic burden of respiratory infections right now

The Toronto Sun of Odin and White Nationalist Post hasn’t said a word about dead 2-year-olds or the red cross being called in to intubate kids in Atco trailers in the CHEO parking lot because they’re on the team. “We don’t give a shit if people die as long as Ford Keeps the money taps stay on.”
The 2-year-old’s parents are top of mind for me today. Every parent puts themselves in that hallway over their child’s body. We can’t help it.
A parent without empathy for the parents of dead children is a politician named Doug Ford.
My thoughts are with the parents tonight. And every other parent of a child Doug Ford refuses to acknowledge as a life.
