Meet TV news Anchor Heather Kovar. She went viral over the weekend for her appearing sloppy drunk live on television. The jury is out whether she was drunk or not, she blames it on being overworked.
I think we can all agree to cut Heather some slack for being so obviously under the influence of … something. It’s not easy working in media right now, we saw the toll it took on Dean last week with his epic rant.

Apparently her employer knew that she came in drunk but it never was “this bad”.
Heather Kovar update no. 5: In addition to exhaustion and a toxic work environment, it appears alcohol did play a role, too. A producer on the CBS 6 Albany newscast tells me Kovar was known to come in for weekend shifts “intoxicated”, but “not this bad”.

Heather has since resigned blaming her state on her bosses for overworking her.
Heather Kovar update: After being suspended by WRGB CBS 6 pending an investigation, Kovar has resigned effective July 31. She’s blaming exhaustion for her performance: “I was scheduled to work the early morning 6 am shift and the evening shift. I was sleep deprived & exhausted.”

Big shocker, media mistreating their employees and overworking them for next to no compensation. Tail as old as time. I do not blame Heather at all and it’s local weekend news during the day. Her drunk episode was probably the most clicks the station has had in a decade.
