I love how America works.
Today I came home after bringing my 17-year-old son back from work at McDonald’s (you want your kid to learn how to work, let him work at McDick’s) to this very threatening/ominous letter demanding we remove something from DeanBlundell.com.
I always take these things seriously and 100% of the time if we’re wrong we comply, sincerely apologize and post a full retraction and apology. Every time.
We posted a blog about Zachary Poole who recorded a video threatening war depending on the outcome of the election and the letter was from the assistant general counsel for Rogers Group Inc in the US. It suggested we defamed them by posting a screengrab of Zachary Poole’s Facebook account detailing where he worked.
Here’s the letter
Remember, I always consult our legal counsel when we get these letters and we applied some legal know-how, and I applied critical thinking to what our options were and how to reply.
This is what we came up with.
Too much with the ‘research’ bit?
We have fun, fight hate, racism, and fear in the name of common sense when we can, here at DeanBlundell.com. One thing we take very seriously is not being fucking told what to post according to some massive construction company with billions of dollars to protect heir reputation by trying to scare us we a legal letter.
I don’t know anything about Rogers Group Inc nor did I know that was the parent company of the company that employs Zachary Poole.
I fact I’m sure it’s a fine company that does fine. I don’t care. So much so that I had to look at the post about 30 times to see what my man Andrew was talking about.
.@inc_rogers I see you’re trying to clean up after Zachary Poole. You never said if you fired him. I do know he is being investigated by the FBI. Please let people know if you fired him. People deserve to know if you have a violent person working for you & Arch Materials LLC.

‘Like a McDonald’s pictured in a drive-by…’ as our legal counsel told us.
Plus we’re in Canada so, whatever.
I’ll make Andy here a deal: I’ll crop that photo if he just says ‘sorry’. like a sincere sorry, not one of those ‘we consider this matter closed.’ sorry’s. Those don’t mean anything to anyone.
I also would like to acknowledge hate groups of every fucking form and just put it on the table that white supremacists are terrorists. They in no way represent me or 70-85% (it’s iffy) of us who don’t give a fuck what color you are, your sexual identity, or what’s between your legs.
I’m sure Rogers Group Inc company and the entire board of directors would join with me in a chorus lifting the need for equality for Humankind.
That’s what I like about company’s who are socially aware.
Well, look what we have here.
I knew Rogers Group Inc was a hell of a company and this Andrew Effinger is one hell of an assistant general counsel.
I’m glad we went through this exercise and I’m really happy we came to this conclusion. Companies or individuals 1. never catch flies with turds and 2. transparency and honesty and a splash of sticking up for yourself with a well informed yet stern response is always the best approach.
PS: I don’t care if you fire him, Andrew, that’s all you guys. bro.
