Source – The Luchese family’s ruling hierarchy and 16 mob associates were charged Wednesday with murder, drug-dealing, extortion and gambling in a massive federal indictment.
Named in the 30-page racketeering case were Luchese street boss Matthew Madonna, his underboss Steven (Wonder Boy) Crea Sr., and consigliere Joseph DiNapoli.
Among the 19 charged is the alleged boss, Matthew Madonna – as well as alleged underboss Steven Crea Sr. and alleged consigliere, or advisor, Joseph DiNapoli.
Other defendants have nicknames including “Wonder Boy,” “Big John,” “Joey Glasses,” and “Paulie Roast Beef.”
Paulie Roast Beef? Joey Glasses? I sort of get Big John and Wonder Boy but Jesus Christ, mobsters lost their creative way. The best mobster nicknames are from a time when mobsters were actually cool. Back when movies were about gangsters when they were the target of the FBI, and that was enemy number 1, and there was a massacre every week.
Names Like “Joe Bananas”, “Babby Shanks”, “Johnny Sausage”, and “Icepick Willie” used to make the common man shit their pants. If I hear that “Johnnie Roast Beef” is after me, I’m setting up a small table with horseradish and a Ceasar salad and telling him to hurry up.
C’mon organized crime, get your shit together.
