#21 The Chirp With Daren Millard ft Michael Del Zotto
On the 21st episode of the Chirp with Daren Millard we welcome St.Louis Blues defenseman Michael Del Zotto. Del Zotto is in the midst of a 600 game, 10 year NHL career. He was drafted by the New York Rangers and became the youngest defenseman in Rangers history to play in a season opener. Del Zotto recalls that game with his family in attendance and his first game in the NHL against the Pittsburgh Penguins where they raised the Stanley Cup banner. The boys get into scoring a game 7 winner, having a beer with Gerard Butler, living with his brother in New York, John Tortorella, Sean Avery and adapting his game and his mentality based on his role changing. Del Zotto lets us in on two stories about when he was traded, he blames the city of Vancouver for it. Daren quizzes DZ on if he was going to get married. It’s no secret the Blues are in the Western Conference Finals and have been insanely healthy, Del Zotto hasn’t cracked the lineup yet. Daren gets the inside track on a typical day for DZ and how he stays ready. If you didn’t know, he also plays the saxophone and is a DJ. Del Zotto lets us in on the biggest gig he has ever played. We close with a story about having his phone on the bench the day he was traded from Anaheim, how skilled he is at soccer and the hockey rink he had in his backyard made by is Nunno. Enjoy!
