Maëlle has had countless injuries and surgeries and she came back stronger every time! This week we DROP IN with Olympic Gold medalist Maëlle Ricker.
The definition of Snowboardcross, by Maëlle Ricker is; motocross on snow. Snowboarders spend a lot of time in the gym to prevent injuries because they are racing down a snow track with jumps against 3-5 other riders. It’s not for the faint of heart, even watching it is gripping.
2 weeks before the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, Maëlle was training in Colorado after XGames, on her last run she came out with not only broken ribs, but she had also broken her arm.
How does and athlete race in their 5th Olympics after this?
Tune into DROPPING IN a podcast with Mercedes Nicoll, Thursday, May 21, 2020 to find out how.
