This isn’t great news for the NHL’s plan to return to play.
If your counting at home that’s 35 out of a possible 396 players who’ve tested positive for the COVID19 virus which is a shade under 10% of all players tested to date.
Yesterday 3 more MLB clubs closed the doors to their spring training facility due to overwhelmingly positive test results and the NFL is littered with infected players and training camp hasn’t really even started yet.
I’m getting the distinct feeling that MLB and Football won’t restart at all and unless the NHL can get a handle on these new cases and provide a hermetically sealed environment for the players, I have serious doubts as to the benefit of restarting any league at this point considering the pandemic’s hold on America.
Noy that I don’t want to see some live sports, because I do, but I’m siding with Nat’s player Sean Doolittle who said yesterday ‘Sports is the reward of a functional society’ and right now, society is fucked so why force the issue?
Just my 2 cents.
