The DFB Pokal winners RB Leipzig fell to the record champions FCB 5-3 in Saturday’s German Super Cup final. That also adds another piece of hardware to Canadian national player Alphonso Davies trophy case.

Since joining Bayern in 2019 after a transfer between the Bavarian giants and MLS Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Davies has experienced great success.
Saturday’s victory brings Davies trophies to 12.
There were a lot of questions surrounding Bayern after their top goal scorer Robert Lewandowski demanded a transfer. Bayern bosses finally caved and moved the Polish striker to Barcelona. While the Spanish side got stronger, some wondered if Davies and Bayern would have the same success they’ve experienced in the past.
Hansi Flick: "I think Bayern dealt with Lewandowski's departure quite well. I was kind of expecting it to happen, but not the way things have turned out to be. It's always good to change things a little bit" [@sat1] pic.twitter.com/O9lHDwTxKV

Bayern didn’t spend the transfer window just losing players. FCB made some splashes by signing two superstars. Senegalian national Sadio Mane joined Bayern from Liverpool. Die Rotten also strengthened their backfield when they signed Dutch centre-back Matthijs de Ligt from the Serie A giants Juventus.
Mane delivered in his first competitive game for Bayern and put FCB up 2-0 in the 31st minute.

Bayen won their 10th consecutive Bundesliga title last season, and with Borussia Dortmund losing Erling Holland to Manchester City, an 11th straight title is a given. However, Davies and his teammates will have bigger aspirations. After two consecutive seasons of early exits from the DFB Pokal and the UEFA Champions League, Bayern is under pressure.
