I thought it wasn’t possible for me to like Blake Griffin any more than I already did, but I think he’s now my favourite NBA player ever after seeing the kicks he wore on-court in last night’s Brooklyn Nets game.
Wow. Blake Griffin has “McLovin” 35s on tonight — with his own Hawaii ID info. pic.twitter.com/ghrgjaSjfR

Chicka, chicka-yeah, these are absolute heat. Blake Griffin is one of the luckiest dudes on the planet being an Air Jordan athlete, and he’s maximizing the hell out of his endorsement deal by customizing these Air Jordan XXXV’s in the coolest way possible. The 35’s are one of the best performance basketball shoes ever, but Griffin proves they can also be high fashion wearing a clean Nets throwbacks-inspired colorway with the rainbow pull-tab and his own version of the infamous Hawaiian drivers’ license on the tongue.
Superbad is an iconic movie and the fact that Blake loves it so much that he designed kicks inspired by McLovin’s fake ID only adds to his already atmospheric street cred. Being the back-to-back Blake of the Year winner and partying on yachts in Ibiza make him a guy I’d love to have a beer with, but this puts him on the shortlist. He’s one of the best dunkers in recent NBA history and took McLovin’ sky-high last night when he put former Toronto Raptor Jakob Poeltl on a poster.

After a few years of being stuck with the Pistons (and living in Detroit, which might be even worse), the basketball Gods have rewarded Blake by landing him on a team with Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving. This guys gonna win an NBA championship in a couple of months and do so while putting up 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists a night wearing kicks inspired by one of the funniest movie scenes you’ll ever see. Not to mention that those shoes were created by the best basketball player ever. What a world.
