It’s official, Joe Thornton will remain a San Jose Shark for at least one more season. 8 million is nothing to scoff at and what better way to look the part than to sign this deal in your flip flops. Joe also sported a Floyd Mayweather ‘TMT’ shirt and that glorious shrub he’s been harvesting upon his face. Does anyone really think he would risk losing that beauty to become a Leaf?

This might sound like an overpay and that’s because it is. But the NHL is classically known to overpay any and all free agents. Especially with the departure of Marleau to Toronto (fuck yes) the Sharks knew they had to keep at least one face of their franchise in hopes to make another run at the cup this year.
I’m stoked for Joe, the man looks happy and he damn well should be.
