The Toronto Maple Leafs walking wounded have started to discuss their progress. On Tuesday morning NHL Agent, Allan Walsh tweeted out this video of free agent, and former Leafer, Roman Polak during his skating drills.
Update: Here’s Roman Polak doing some skating drills last week. His rehab from broken fubula is right on track. pic.twitter.com/tEVZo7hFB4

Polak, who is now 31 years old, is trolling for a new NHL contract and would fit into the Leafs lineup as a PK specialist and a right handed shot. Could he be signed this off season to a PTO during his rehabilitation and then move into the Leafs lineup as the season progresses? Would this hinder the development of the newly acquired Borgman, Rosen, or even Dermott?
Head Coach Mike Babcock seemingly trusted the big Czech defenseman, and with Polak already knowing the Leafs systems it SHOULD be a positive when considering to include him in the lineup.
Other Leafs/Marlies news, Frederik Gauthier has also returned to the ice after his late season injury. Gauthier is skating during informal sessions in an attempt to rehabilitate his leg injury that he suffered after a cheap shot along the boards by Jake Dotchin (Tampa Bay knucklehead) during the playoffs series versus Syracuse.
