Aaron Rodgers is going to make a lot of money in 2022, whether the Green Bay Packers want to trade for him or not.
The NFL off-season is so enjoyable. I also stand by my take that the NFL’s off-field product is more entertaining than the on-field product. The Aaron Rodgers drama is the funnest of them all. Is he going to play, is he going to get traded, does anybody outside of Green Bay care?
According to Alex Chippin of The Score, earlier reports that there were multiple trade offers on the table for Aaron Rodgers, Packers’ GM Brian Buteknust says that’s not really the case.
“Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst insisted his inbox hasn’t swelled with trade inquiries about Aaron Rodgers, contrary to a previous report.
ESPN reported Feb. 24 that multiple teams already had trade offers on the table for Rodgers, who’s yet to decide between playing in 2022 or retiring. The Packers are reportedly preparing a short-term contract that would make the four-time MVP the highest-paid player in the NFL.
Rodgers has thrown 85 touchdowns with only nine interceptions over the last two years and picked up MVP awards at the end of both campaigns.”
So there is so much to unpack. Are the Packers going to give Rodgers a huge pay bump? Will Rodgers be in Green Bay next season? Will Rodgers even be playing football?
I put up a Twitter poll and asked NFL fans what they thought was going to happen with Rodgers.
Packers’ GM says that reports of there being trade offers on the table for Aaron Rodgers are false. There’s also reports that the Packers are prepared to make Rodgers the highest paid QB in the NFL. Either could be true, so what’s the most likely scenario in Green Bay?

I do believe Aaron Rodgers will play this season, I also believe he’ll accept a big paycheck from the Green Bay Packers. In my opinion, Rodgers has never been “about the team”, and that’s not a criticism. Players need to take care of themselves, and I believe Rodgers will do just that.
