Marco Estrada was dealing Thursday night and the Yankees didn’t have an answer. At times it was like they didn’t even understand the questions, really.
ACEstrada was in playoff mode and his latest quality start would include 7 innings of ‘pitching backwards’, surrendering only 5 hits and striking out 6. This seems to be the theme for Marco as of late, which kinda sucks and is kind of nice, as the rumors keep swirling about a trade to Seattle. The Mariners pitching staff can’t stay healthy, so there could be a fit there.
He could always get dealt for a decent prospect and resign in Toronto in the winter. Seattle’s attendance would go up every fifth day as Blue Jays nation would go support the changeup specialist.
Once Gibby shook hands with ACEstrada, ‘Core Piece” Tepera was given the nod and threw a clean sheet in the 8th. Of all the nicknames out there, it would be a ballsy move to have “Core Piece” on your back for Player’s Weekend.
Speaking of the players weekend, the early favorite for ‘Nickname of the Weekend’ goes to Kyle Seager of the Seattle Mariners, or better known as…
Shut it down, guys.

Kyle wins, everyone else can stay home.
Back to the Bluebirds.
Tonight’s victory was how you ‘Baseball’. The BlueJays resembled a playoff team out there Thursday night.
It was a clean fundamentally sound game which included some creative sliding by both Circus Z to score the first run of the game, and the Captain aka. BringerOfRain at second base. On the other side of the ball, some decent glove work by newcomer 2B Rob Refsnyder and SS Ryan Goins. Go-Go is the ‘best defensive short stop in the league who doesn’t play’.
Speaking of playing, Wednesday night the Blue Jays stood no chance to beat the Yankees. You are not going to win many games when your fielding this lineup:
Look at that mix of talent.
At least everyone is batting more than they weigh. We will give Rafffy the benefit of the doubt, his name is Raffy and he just got to the Six.
Shifting gears to the weekend, as Raffy and the Boys welcome the Pirates into town, they will look to keep the good times rolling. Hey, if the pitching can continue to be above average and the lineup can come up with timely hits, you just never know.
Put Martin at second and give Raffy some more at bats, we hear they call him “Raffy Rolex”, he’s so timely.
