Apparently, Conor McGregor refuses to fight unless he’s the main event.
On the Joe Rogan Experience, Joe Rogan announced that the fight between Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone has been delayed because the UFC wants to make that fight a co-main event.
Has the UFC brass been spending too much time with Cannabis Phil? Because I want whatever they’re smoking, vaping, eating, vassaging, or whatever other new technique they’re using to get high.
But of course, Conor McGregor refuses to fight as anything other than the main event. He is the main event. Regardless of whether or not there is a title at stake, we’re all only paying to watch Conor McGregor.
The stats don’t lie. His last six fights have generated over 9M PPV buys. And that doesn’t include his Boxing match with Floyd Mayweather which had 4.6M PPV buys. He is the show, folks. And it’s insulting to try and put your clear cut money maker as anything other than the main attraction.
No offense to Donald Cerrone because he is one of my favourite fighters and I am actually hell-a-excited to watch that fight. But you could have Conor McGregor wrestle a broomstick and people are going to pay money to watch that. Obviously having a name as Cerrone helps, but the opponent really doesn’t matter.
So let’s get your [email protected]#% together UFC. Bill him as the main event as you should and let’s make this fight happen. It’s not only the McGregor nut huggers like myself that want to see this fight. The world wants to see it. Be smart and give the people what they want.
