In the wise words of Ferris Buehler, “life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it”.
Isn’t that the case for Mississauga native and sharpshooter Nik Stauskas? Fun fact, I went to high school with him, (shout out Loyola Catholic Secondary School in Mississauga) he was a beast then and is a beast now. However, his road has been anything but easy. A former 8th overall pick has struggled to find his game and has bounced around to a few teams. Ending up the G-Leauge playing for Grand Rapids. Stauskas can knock down 3s in his sleep and did so in back-to-back games for Grand Rapids accumulating over 100 points in 2 games. 100 POINTS!!
That performance got him a 2-year deal with the NBA’s hottest team, The Boston Celtics.
Nik Stauskas is signing a two-year deal with the Boston Celtics, his agents Mark Bartelstein and Andy Shiffman of @PrioritySports tell ESPN. Stauskas had an historic week, scoring 100 points on 57 and 43 point performances in back-to-back games for Grand Rapids.

You LOVE to see it. Even crazier fact is Stauskas almost retired the day before his breakout game.

Wow, good thing he didn’t. This is a lesson to start your week kids, never give up on yourself and when things look they are at their worst, stick it out because an opportunity could be right around the corner.
Next stop for Nik the Larry OB.
