Lin came to town with the Knicks on a heater, scoring a bazillion points in a couple of weeks and all anyone could talk about was this player no one had heard of.
I think he scored 26 that night including this crazy clear out three to win with no time on the clock.
He was EVERYWHERE. Then, he wasn’t.
This will Be Lin’s 7th team in 7 years with stops in NY, GS, HOU, LAL, CHO, BRK, ATL and now, Toronto. He’s got some jam still. He looked pretty good when he was here the night we all cheered for Vince when Atlanta came to town a month or so ago. He’s shooting 46% from 3 this year and he’s still a really good game manager. I really couldn’t tell you why he hasn’t stuck be he’s a huge add for the Raptors backcourt with Van Vleet out with a bad thumb for 3 weeks.
Assuming he clears waivers (he will) his agent said Lin plans on signing with the Raptors ASAP and could be here mid week.
Don’t feel sorry for Lin. He’s in the final year of a 3 yr 38 million dollar deal he signed with the Nets and he negotiated a full buyout.
Plus, Lin gets to compete for a championship on a team that could use his 11.8 ppg and consistency from 3.
I feel like a Cynical prick saying ‘it still won’t matter but who gives a shit at this point.’
Did it matter when The Mavs and the Spurs beat the LeBron and his Super Team in Miami?
Did it matter when they engineered the moon landing to fake out the Russian’s?
Did it matter when Jonas Salk invented the cure for Polio?
Toronto has an enormously vibrant Asian population who love Jeremy Lin, so it’s a huge win for the Raptors PR dept too.
BTW, did anyone see what Marc Gasol did last night?
