Meh, I call BS.
Brian Windhorst is only relevant because he’s LeBron James media puppet so let’s all settle down. He didn’t come right out and say Kawhi is leaving but he’s not wrong about the general feeling around the NBA is Kawhi is leaving for the west coast.
Here’s what we know from our source(s):
-Kawhi loves playing here and he’s been given “everything” he’s needed to be successful including half the year off for ‘Load Management’.
-Kawhi loves the nightlife and the anonymity he can operate with, in Toronto
-He’s frugal AF so that extra year the Raps can offer is a bigger factor
-Kawhi is weird enough to do the least expected thing, all the time.
If no one expects him to stay, I say he’s staying. I hate the “cliche’ explain away”, but time will tell. And Kawhi hasn’t made a decision one way or another and if he has, he’s not saying a word.
Question: If the Raptors win it all and Kawhi still leaves, was it worth it?
