The Cleveland Browns have signed Kareem Hunt to a 1-year 1 million dollar deal per the Cleveland Browns official twitter account. Hunt made headlines last year when a video surfaced showing the star running back pushing and kicking a woman. The Browns are aware Hunt can still be suspended, as an NFL investigation is ongoing. Browns general manager John Dorsey drafted Hunt while working for Kansas City Chiefs, and said that their relationship was a very important part of this decision-making process.
Where to begin. On one of our DB.com pods when the news broke we addressed this topic.
The boys thought his career was over but I said he was going to be playing football again very soon. It wasn’t a bad opinion, a lot of people thought that this incident was the end of his career. In any other sport I’d say it would be, but the evil empire that is the NFL, no chance. It is unfortunate but a reality. He is a 21-year old running back with a high ceiling and talent in the prime of his career. Any NFL team would “give him a second chance”.If there is talent teams will overlook anything. It’s sad but true.
John Dorsey is taking a big risk brining Hunt into the locker room. The media circus it will bring, the ongoing investigation/ suspension and how players will react on the team.
The Browns are trending upwards and it will be interesting to see how this dynamic plays out.
