The BOG met this morning on a teleconference call and a decision has been made to suspend the 19-20 NHL season immediately due to the rapid spread of the #Cornavirus. Expect an announcement after 2 pm today.
After learning the Toronto Raptors were heading into quarantine, MLSE is testing all it’s staff and players as well.
According to one source this the ‘the worst possible scenario is playing out’ and there are ‘sincere concerns for all members of the NHL family’.
Bettman can’t thumb his nose at the current health concerns being communicated by public health officials and the NHLPA has expressed ‘serious concern’ for the health of their players and their families.
Earlier today NHL referees on the road were told to ‘book flights home’ and plan for a shortened playoff run or complete cancelation of the season.
