Kyle Dubas has found a dance partner as the Toronto Maple Leafs and LA Kings pulled off a trade late Wednesday night. The Leafs couldn’t solve the Rangers on Broadway and enough was enough, changes were needed. The Leafs GM loves to stick to his roots and rightfully so, it showed once again with this trade.
To the Kings: LW Trevor Moore and a 3rd-round pick in 2020, and conditional 3rd in 2021
To the Leafs: LW Kyle Clifford and goalie Jack Campbell
For the Leafs it’s instant upgrades in the crease and for their overall team toughness. Clifford was one of the character guys for the Kings and letting him go was a very tough decision. ‘Mr Handyman’ as he’s known to the Kings will be counted on to hit everyone in site and stick up for his teammates in Toronto. The Kings will retain 50% of Clifford’s remaining salary for this season.
Forgot: when Kyle Dubas was an agent, his first client was…Kyle Clifford

Jack Campbell has now been acquired twice by Kyle Dubas, just happens that the first time was in the OHL. The former first-rounder will be counted upon to carry the load if Freddie Andersen is out for another week. It looks like Campbell has been chosen as the back up of the future as he’s signed for two more seasons at $1.6 million per.
