Source – Golf legend Tiger Woods was arrested around 3 a.m. Monday on suspicion of driving under the influence in Jupiter, Florida, Jupiter police spokeswoman Kristin Rightler said.
Woods was booked into a local jail and released on his own recognizance with no bond a few hours later, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office’s online records. It’s unclear whether Woods tested positive for alcohol or drugs. It’s also unknown at this time whether Woods was the only person in the vehicle. An arrest report was not immediately available on Monday.Woods has a home on Jupiter Island.CNN has reached out to Woods’ representative but has not heard back. The PGA Tour told CNN it would not comment on the arrest.
Woods has won 14 major tournaments — second only to Jack Nicklaus — and has recently expressed a desire to continue to play golf professionally despite a recent history of injuries. The 41-year-old Woods has undergone multiple back surgeries and hasn’t played competitive golf since he was forced to pull out of the Dubai Desert Classic in February. His most recent operation — his fourth since 2014 — was just more than a month ago when he underwent fusion surgery on his back. Woods said in a blog post published Wednesday that “it was instant nerve relief.”“I haven’t felt this good in years,” he said.
I always hate it when people point out the obvious. Like when you’re golfing and you blow a ball into the woods and the guys who you’re golfing with gently tell you “It’s way right”. Or when you lose your keys and someone asks where you lost them. This latest chapter in the Tiger Woods saga puts his life on a tee, and I’m ready to hammer this thing 350 yards dead centre.
What a fucking terrible finish for the greatest finisher to ever play the game. Just terrible. I was in love— in fact ADDICTED— to following Tiger on his journey to obliterate Nicklaus’ record of 18 majors. If you were in your prime and golfed, or even just appreciated excellence, you were too. You got to watch a guy who played 12 tournaments a year win 7 of them and usually mixing in a couple of majors. It was a forgone conclusion that he was the greatest ever… until he took a 9 iron to the mouth for fucking dozens of broads no-dome.
Tiger-philes will cite injuries as the reason he’s on the verge of being a punchline as opposed to royalty, but make no mistake— his fuckery and the embarrassment of his life being made public is numero uno on the list of reasons he’s a stumble away from irrelevance.
PS. I highly doubt it’s booze. 64 back surgeries, 56 knee surgeries? I’m thinking pills, but who knows. Another mountain to climb for a guy who has to be tired of climbing mountains.
