Source – “Canada defenceman Tyson Barrie will miss the rest of the world hockey championship with a lower-body injury.
Hockey Canada made the announcement Wednesday on Twitter.
Barrie was tied for Canadian the team lead in scoring with seven points (two goals, five assists) along with Colorado Avalanche teammate Nathan MacKinnon and Carolina’s Jeff Skinner.
The two-time defending champion Canadians (3-0) face co-host France on Thursday.”
Normally this isn’t a story that leaps off the page and excites me. What DOES excite me is the following tweet from Darren Dreger as to the nature of the “lower body injury”:
Wrestling with a teammate catches my eye. What grown-ass men “wrestle”, other than wrestlers? Drunk ones.
If you’re Tyson Barrie, you’re probably blowing off steam from the worst season in Colorado’s history. Being wasted and playing winning hockey overseas seems like a good way to do it, doesn’t it?
It would be nice if they replaced “lower body” with “wasted wrestling lead to leg laceration” injury.
