Source – Of all the worst possible things you could do at an art gallery, this would have to be top of the list.
A woman visiting Simon Birch’s art installation The 14th Factory in Los Angeles has pretty much lived out our worst art-related nightmares (besides being cast in plaster to look as if our frozen body was a statue, but we’ll leave that one aside for now).
She had a friend take her picture in front of a bunch of super expensive sculptures of crowns, an exhibit called Hypercaine – The Reward a collaborative work by Birch and fellow artists Gloria Yu, Gabriel Chan and Jacob Blitzer.
But when she bobbed down beside the sculptures she knocked over one of the plinths, which set off a chain reaction of destruction like the most expensive game of dominoes ever.
Bummer. Not sure if they have a “You Break It, You Buy It” Policy but fuck that had to suck for everyone involved.
FYI. Selfies in an art exhibit full of breakable shit, probably not a smart idea.
